Mariadb reset root password

mysql --version

sudo systemctl stop mariadb

sudo systemctl set-environment MYSQLD_OPTS="--skip-grant-tables --skip-networking"


sudo systemctl start mariadb


sudo mysql -u root


FLUSH PRIVILEGES;

UPDATE mysql.user SET password = PASSWORD('UMANOVAPASSWORD') WHERE user = 'root';

UPDATE mysql.user SET authentication_string = '' WHERE user = 'root';

UPDATE mysql.user SET plugin = '' WHERE user = 'root';

EXIT



sudo systemctl unset-environment MYSQLD_OPTS

sudo systemctl restart mariadb

sudo systemctl daemon-reload
